What is GH & KH?

KH (dKH) serves as a measure of bicarbonates and carbonates in water and is commonly known as Total Alkalinity. It indicates the carbonate hardness, which represents the water's buffering capacity.

On the other hand, GH measures the total dissolved minerals in the water, predominantly calcium and magnesium, crucial for fish health. The recommended range for a healthy pond is between 8-12 GH.

How does KH influence pH? Higher KH levels lead to more stable pH levels, preventing pH crashes and offering health benefits. Additionally, KH is essential for biological filtration as it's continuously consumed by filter bacteria. A KH level above 5 c is recommended.

Dosage: 1 kg treats 10,000 litres, increasing KH by 2 c and GH by 4 c. It's perfectly safe if overdosed.

When to use: Regular use is advised to maintain carbonate levels. Mix in a container and add directly to the pond. Although the water may initially become cloudy, it will soon clear. Harmless to fish, pets, and pond life. Remember to wash hands after use.
